Introduction

A beautiful shine on the shoe guarantees a complete and very well-groomed appearance, a mirror shine definitely contributes to this. Achieving this beautiful high-gloss finish is often the most difficult part of an entire shoe shine and therefore often requires some practice. With this guide we are happy to help you on your way so that you too can make your shoes shine beautifully.

Step 1.

Prepare your shoes

Start by removing dirt and sand with a brush or damp cloth. Then apply Collonil 1909 Leather Lotion with a cloth and spread the conditioner evenly over the shoe. Let the Collonil leather lotion soak in for five minutes and brush out with a horsehair brush . Then do the same with the Collonil 1909 Supreme crème deluxe .

Your shoes are now ready to be polished with shoe wax and build up your mirror shine.

Step 2.

Mirror Shine

The art of a beautiful high gloss on your shoe lies in the many thin layers of shoe wax that together give a mirror-smooth finish to your shoes. The smoother the layers were, the more shine you get. Start by applying a thin coat of Collonil 1909 Supreme Wax Polish to be applied with a cloth. Let the shoe wax harden for about 5 minutes so that it adheres well to the leather. Then apply a small drop of water to the shoe. Polish the shoe wax together with the drop of water with a cloth. Use only the weight of your fingers and do this in circular movements. If you put too much pressure, you will rub the wax off the shoes again.

Repeat this 5-10 times. The shoe should start to shine more and more in the meantime. Doesn't work right the first time? Do not give up! Clean your shoes with a leather soap and start over.
